Can somebody give me some guidance on where the best place to pick up Mazar I sharif beans....My old uncle just HAS to have some asap..Ive never really looked into the landrace stuff as much as I should....It can't be a Afghani cross or northern lights. The beans must say mazar I sharif ?
 
Yeah that's a parent to Skywalker! I hope to grow some one day too, I want to see what kind of cold it can handle when it's flowering and of course, let it go until the resin has some Amber color to it. I hear that's how it's grown in Mazar-I-Sharif; decent amount of Amber color resin, and some chilly nights too see how it matches to the weather there. Hope you get them bro! If you do see if you can take a cutting; I imagine it'll be straight fire and the Indian Landrace seed exchange says sometimes it throws some rank Terpene Profiles too!
 
The Mazar-I-Sharif seeds I released was the 5th increase of The Real Seed Companys line that Angus collected in 2007. It was an outdoor ascension through open pollination, 7 males. I asked/and recieved permission from Angus before they were released. Angus increased them 4 times before that through open pollination indoors since they were collected in '07.

There are still some sensitivities to indoor environments to be watched for. However they responded really well to the full outdoor weather of the PNW at 46.5* north latitude with a cold and rainy late season.

Also, the Real Seed Company has some Tashkurgan that could be closely related to Mazar-I-Sharif. I grew some of those and they were good.

You're not going to find many 20+% thc cultivars in those lines. More like low 1:1 thc/cbd combinations with lots of variation. But the oldschool vibe and flavor is still there.

If you're looking for something that holds the oldschool Mazar-I-Sharif scent/flavor, narcotic effects but with a modern twist. Thats kinda what I working towards with these. Or where the plants were leading me. These are available at GLG.

Both of those should check your uncle's boxes. That Kashmir Azad cross should hold some ?

I tried a few of his strains early skunk, mazar and auto great white and auto Himalayan blue diesal before I realized I needed to go elsewhere some self seeding issues very late maturing I still have a couple strains I didn't pop and just put in the fridge

I have some Heirloom Tashkurgan that says it was collected in the Balkh province of Afghanistan and you say Mazar-I-Sharif is similar??

I've seen what a Skywalker can do when it's so cold I'm knocking snow off my branches before and it was BEAUTIFUL!

Almost black in color after the Purple hues deepened, and I didn't even have bud rot! Considering how cold that plant got and actual snow on the buds I am surprised that bud rot didn't happen. Totally beautiful in Michigan outdoor when it gets to be cold.

I'm popping the Tashkurgan soon (it's a pure Indica, so I'm not concerned about the weather here getting too cold) and can't wait to see how it does :)

If you're working with Mazar-I-Sharif as you said, the smells that thing can produce, have you crossed that into anything else??

I have run his auto gear with less than expected results, just too much variation. I would say that was years ago, so perhaps better now.

The Mazar-I-Sharif from TRSC was an open pollination project only. I haven't worked any into hibreds yet.

The Mazar-I-Sharif used in the Eastern Starz is a one of a kind cultivar from the PNW. Its stable indoors, breeds true and comes through strong in many of her offspring. Makes for great medical plants. I thought it paired really well with the Black Triangle.

Initially the Eastern Starz were not going to be released and kept for inhouse projects only. I felt they were too good to keep locked away.

4 females were selected from Eastern Starz. Those were crossed with a Kashmir Azad male. An even amount of seeds from each of those females were mixed together to make the Kashmir Sweater stock. I like the diversity and all 4 were great expressions. 1 leaning heavy towards the Black Triangle, 1 holds a nice 50/50 blend of both parents and 2 leaned heavily towards the Mazar-I-Sharif (PNW) cut.
 
Thank you for not keeping them in house! Those crosses sound wonderful bro! I've only personally had Skywalker myself and we love that, and I've had it lean on both the Blueberry side, and a nice mix of both :) I've not had the original as of yet, but I feel like it's one I'll eventually try out. I have Tashkurgan heirloom that I've got a seedling of right now and a cross of that, and I've heard that Mazar-I-Sharif is very similar.
 
I've only smoked Skywalker...almost 11 or 12 years ago now. I think it leaned towards the Blue Berry. It was good weed, rich and flavorful.

I think the Eastern Starz will go well with a fruity type. That will happen in the near future.

I wish you the best of fortune for the Tashkurgan seedling. There are some nice Berry flavors in that stock. The pure landrace is still sensitive to indoor environments. I had one self seed. But none of the other plants in the room were seeded. One of my favorites has an awake, soothing/wellbeing effect and a smooth berry flavor that develops after the exhale.
