Ya, I ear what your saying.I wouldn't. Just build a flow hood or use SAB
To me the box fan with a decent filter is better/ cheaper choice, but not practical.
If you plan on anything morethan a couple of 6qt bins now and then you need a flow hood.
I'm just getting into this and am no expert. Just my thoughts
I'm getting materials together for my flow hood build. Now
I did seal it both inside and out. All seams caulking and then the whole box was painted with Zinsser, which I had to let off gas before firing it up.
Watched a lot of his stuff,. I like listening to the audio of his videos as much as learning from the videos myself. My first Martha was built using his examples, and other research. He is on Patreon still sharingBad ass Deebs.
Any plans to paint/seal the inside or just run it raw?
I was looking into this stuff last year, there was a ridiculously good channel on youtube called "The Astro Way".
He had up to 16k subscribers, the channel was starting to blow when they pulled the plug on it. I knew it wouldn't last, he showed everything from multiple, MULTIPLE mushroom teks to processing ayahuasca and extracting DMT.
All this in super detail without saying a single word, just annotations where needed and while playing various vintage interviews with pioneers like Paul Stamets and Terence McKenna. I don't have instagram but he could probably be found there.
Edit: Yep. Check this guy out. His channel was amazing. Login • Instagram
Fan hole still 6in from back? and the 1x2 set back 5 3/4in in the front..ie width of filter..kind of acts as backstop if recall. The concept is simple. Build a box with a 2'x2' INNER diameter. That filter is exactly 2'X2' and slips right into place. The fan is inside the plenum and pushes air through the HEPA filter. The fan is connected to a speed controller. Plug her in and turn the fan speed up until your flame bends.
