The Dark Alley Club - Sad, seedy loners welcome.

I haven't but I actually own a bunch from buying a long box off a guy years ago. Are they good? I mean, I'm a fan of the "art" but I never took them super seriously... kinda like Hack N Slash
The reason I ask is I’m actually good friends with Eric Basaldua (Ebas) who does most of their covers. He periodically “auctions” off his original art or hard to get variants to his “friends”. If you were a fan I’d get him to add you to the list.

If you have any reserved list cards still right now dig em out... there's a huge run on them. Prices have tripled this year. Speculators are treating them like bonds at this point, and the whales are just buying everything. Old foils too. It's absolutely absurd.
You saw counterfeits are coming out of China??? Seems they have the tooling from when they Originally printed them. So they’re just reprinting them and selling them on ebay etc. I saw a article a few years back about it.

He is a heck of an artist but I have to admit it's not really my style. I lean towards the Ashley Wood, Juan Jose Ryp, Gabriel Rodriguez type stuff.

Super cool that your friends with him though. I'm curious how he likes the work, I've heard it can be a grind with the crazy deadlines and stuff

Yeah, supposedly there's a way to test them but I'm just not buying any high end cards so I haven't looked into it much. I hate that you have to be so attentive to everything these days... I remember trimming being a big issue with comics back in the day... may still be. Cutting the frayed edges off a book to make it look like the condition was better... super shady

The problem is it’s the same paper and same presses and templates to make the originals. It’s all part of losing those intellectual rights to China when using them. They’re not breaking any of their laws and the people are being counterfeited with their own product literally and have no recourse.
I’m more into collecting things now I like. Rather than speculating on things like I used too.
For example:

Him, his brother Rick, and Billy Tucci (Shi, sgt Rock) are guys I talk to weekly. Not about books. I wouldn’t still be their friends if I did. Billy and I have A LOT in common. Rick’s a professional photographer when he’s not an artist, and Eric hit on my 13 year old daughter. TRUE story... in his defense he thought she was in her 20’s. He was ALL shades of red when I (through tears of laughter) not only informed him she was my daughter BUT she was 13. I actually have a picture somewhere of him literally minutes after this incident with her. Let me see if I can find it.

Damn, that's super awkward lol. It's happened with my daughter a few times though. She's looked 20 for the last couple years. Meanwhile her mom also looks 20 something. When they go out guys think their sisters and hit on both of them. My girl loves telling dudes they're hitting on her teenage daughter, then watching the gears turn...

She was 44 DD with a small waist at 13 and 5’2. I spent our first Disney trip chasing off young male park employees with:
“SHE’S 14 YEARS OLD!!!
Here a few pics, I couldn’t find the one with Eric with her but I found one right after.

For some reason I thought you might like this. The late comic legend Larry Hama (GI Joe, Wolverine, Elecktra).

Just for shits'n'giggles, I went and found the box. Not sure if there's more somewhere else or not, as the only Titans I see is the Xmen crossover.

Mainly because I want to picture you guys cringing at these lovely old comic books that have been owned by a neanderthal and that have not been cared for or properly stored, here ya go . (sorry ;) )

Dude, bag and board those books.... seriously. In 9.4 mint condition the X-men #97 (which if I remember correctly is the 1st Appearance of Princess Lilandra & Shi'ar race.) is worth at least 250.00 if not more. Yours I would grade just looking at the picture as VG/F.

Ah, the days when Marvel and DC did crossovers!

I see that Freak Brothers book too... that was my old man's favorite... did you know they had their own rolling papers for a while?
