Capt's Farm

Took me two and a half of these Cheese Chonger's , but I read it front to back.

We have never met, so I am going to give you some brutally honest advice.
We can decide if we make friends after.

Start building your own soil.
Heat, water, green, and brown.
That is all you need.

Consider a scale down of your pack. You seem like the kind of guy that will be getting skinny, while his dogs are getting fat.
Comprise?
Chickens and Rabbits.
Get some silage and clover growing.
Minimum investment. You can forage or grow nearly all of the food for your livestock. In turn, the eggs and meat will feed you,,, and your dogs.

Have you ever seen a 'texas gate" ?
You could build them for free, with deadfall. That will keep the deer @ bay.

I really enjoy the photos of your landscape. Kind of reminds me of the rolling prairies around here- except you have trees !
Are those oak leaves I spotted on the ground?
Those are very rare here. I could only tell you of three.
Keep living the dream, and working the soil. Make that land work for you.
