Green machines organic madness

As I mentioned, I'm really tempted to set something like this up in one of my tents. My super soil attempt never worked out, I just couldn't get the right balance. But being able to reuse soil instead of hauling it up and down stairs sounds wonderful.
You’ll love it. 99 times out of 100 peoples issues are watering practices and pot sizes when it comes to living soil.

it’s counter intuitive because all the “standard” practices don’t apply to soil. Like letting soil dry out between waterings. Sure fire way to destroy engine of the whole deal.

also no ph adjusting water took some getting used too. Even my tap well water at 8 performs perfect. Soil ph regulates itself via plants interactions with the biology Down there. Pretty magical. Root exudates attract the certain bacterial flushes to change based on current nutritional needs.

anyway would be happy to steer you when you get to the point to try it again.

Yeah, I'll definitely reach out when I get around to it. My propensity to grow from seed and frequently cull or move plants around has me thinking how I could adapt it to my needs (or visa versa).

What's the process when you harvest, just chop the plants and leave the roots in place? And if so, how long do you wait to replant the bed?

Yes chop at base and leave everything under the mulch. No waiting really needed before replanting. Day of harvest if possible, But no more than a week is my usual practice.

Hello to my fellow gardeners. I’m new here and thought what better than to just start a journal right away.

Im a couple months into my current run but will play some catch-up on what’s happened so far.

I was lucky enough to score a brand new Mars hydro fc6500 and 5x5 tent.

anyway, let the madness begin.
anything organice gets me popping my head up like a zombie sniffing new meat. very interested

I told em the rules here. No spiders in the house or I kill them dead. Outside, in the grow, they can stay and eat anything they find there, just stay outta the dang house. lol. Man do I hate spiders though, little basterds freak me out. lol

Haha that's how my whole family is, but I don't mind them one bit so I just try and relocate them. Helps that I live in a place where we don't have any venomous spiders per se
