Hippy Slayer 33 Reversal Trial

Started to gather some of her pollen just now. Decided to try a new method, shaking the clusters in a colander over some wax paper.... it was only kind of successful. The holes in the colander were still too big and a bunch of vegetative matter got through... but even worse, a bunch of thrips fell through!

Seeing how many of those little shits were on this plant that I couldn't see before was kind of jarring. No wonder I'm struggling to knock them out, there's probably a hundred on this plant alone!

But anyways, cleaned them and the other garbage out and laid the pollen out to dry. Lots more left to harvest tomorrow...

This is awesome man , I am four days behind ya ?

So despite being absolutely covered in pollen sacs this gal is yielding very little actual pollen.... but the MSS pollination looks to have taken so it does appear to be viable! Gonna hit a couple branches on the Hippy Slayer cut I have in flower in the next couple days and get working on those S1s...

Thanks again for the opportunity to run this test for you @HydroRed! Excited to work on more reversals going forward!

Superb job on the entire reversal process (and finding the directions haha). In all seriousness though, I knew the kit was going into good hands. Hoping you get a bounty of beans from your MSS & Hippy Slayer S1's. Let me know when you wanna do it again.

You might want to mix some flour with the pollen to maximize it's potential / coverage

Well, here's my little pile of pollen... 20210626_000823.jpg

I baked some flour at 180 and mixed it in about 50/50. Originally I had plans for a few crosses but since this gal put out so many empty sacs I think I'm just gonna try and pollinate like half a dozen branches on the HS33 in flower. I'd like a decent pile of S1s if possible, both to share and in case I ever lose the cut. I'm going away for a night tomorrow so I'll probably hit it Sunday night.

Is the flour mixed in in the pic?

That could make a couple thousand beans. One grain of pollen can create one seed
