My seeds are split after shucking.... why???

What I thought was a decent seed haul has turned out to be somewhat disappointing as about 60% of my Flo x Fast Purple seeds are split open upon removing them from the plant.

What am I doing wrong?

If the buds get damp like from rain or a sprinkler or something the seeds can start to germinate.

I should have added, these were indoor, RH around 45-55% temps 77-81F

The Grand Fire and Fast Purple F2 came out ok without the splitting.

I have had this happen with some strains and not others during same crop. Not sure why it happens but those split beans will still germinate.

I tried germinating a few of the ones I had that split like that and they germinated and grew fine. Not sure how long they'll stay good but at least a few weeks for sure.

That's why I mentioned popping one open.
It may of actually grown that way and not be actually split.

I threw a few of the cracked ones in a paper towel. One is ready to go, a few look like they will have taps emerge soon, a couple nothings.
I gave up on trying to crack one open without destroying the entire seed. I now have 6 seeds in my carpet somewhere.
