They're no different than 'regular' carrots except for a heavy coating of anthocyanin around the outside. If you leave them in water too long it starts to come off and when you steam them the water in the steamer part turns a dark purple/black. We planted them everywhere with regulars as well but the purples had a better germ rate. I think the orange seeds were a few years old.@pwnytailjoe About those nice purple carrots you grew - do they taste like the orange ones ?
